Reflecting on her time working with Redford, Fonda shared that she was always fascinated by him, calling him “the most gorgeous human being” and praising his contributions to the film industry. She noted that Redford significantly impacted cinema by promoting independent films.
Fonda appeared alongside Redford in several notable films: The Chase (1966), Barefoot in the Park (1967), The Electric Horseman (1979), and Our Souls at Night (2017). Redford sadly passed away on September 16, 2025, at the age of 89.
Streisand had delivered an emotional tribute to Redford, recalling their time together on the set of The Way We Were. She sang a part of its Oscar-winning theme song during the ceremony. Streisand described Redford as a talented actor, noting their unique chemistry while performing.
She also commended Redford for his principles, recognising his commitment to press freedom and environmental advocacy.
