Today’s New York Times Connections puzzle is proving to be quite a challenge. Players must find four related words hidden inside other words. Each group is labelled by colour, with the purple group being the most difficult.
The Times offers a Bot for Connections, similar to the one for Wordle. After playing, users can check their score and get feedback on their performance. Those registered with the Times Games section can track their progress. This includes the number of puzzles they have completed, their win rate, and if they achieved a perfect score.
For today’s puzzle, hints are provided for each group. The yellow group hints at being “pretty sly,” while the green group refers to “different plans.” The blue group connects to “detective movies,” and the purple group involves “hidden anatomy words.”
The answers for the groups are as follows. In the yellow group, the words are creep, slip, sneak, and steal, all relating to moving stealthily. The green group includes color, Ponzi, pyramid, and rhyme, which are types of schemes. The blue group answers are Chinatown, Knives Out, Seven, and Vertigo, indicating popular detective films. Lastly, the purple group features elegy (leg), karma (arm), keyed (eye), and shandy (hand), all relating to body parts hidden among letters.
