NASA is looking for people to join a special program to simulate life on Mars. This program is called MMEA. It will take place at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas. Four main participants and two backups will be chosen for this project.
The program is set to start in August 2027 and will last about 14 months. Participants will live in a small spacecraft and stay together with three other people. They will have no chance to visit their families during this time. Each day, they will work hard and have some time to rest and eat.
Participants will face challenges to understand how people will live in space. They will do tasks like growing plants and working on scientific missions. Even though it will not be real Mars, it will help NASA learn what to expect for future space missions.
If you are a U.S. citizen aged 30 to 55 with a science degree and no medical issues, you might qualify. Interested people can apply to join this exciting project.
