AMC Entertainment’s CEO, Adam Aron, was paid $25.4 million in 2023. This is $1.7 million more than the previous year. Most of this money was from company shares and a big cash bonus.
The company said that Aron had done well during a very hard time. COVID-19 and Hollywood strikes have stopped a lot of films from being shown in cinemas.
However, Aron cannot sell his shares yet and their value has gone down a lot. Yesterday, they were worth only $1.3 million and not $17.9 million.
Some people are unhappy about how much money Aron has been paid. He and the AMC board have decided to cut his pay by 25% this year.
AMC’s next highest-paid executive, CFO Sean Goodman, made $6.7 million in 2023.
