Ashly Burch Raises Alarm Over Horizon AI Leak

In March 2025, Sony faced a lot of criticism. A video was leaked that showed an AI version of Aloy from the game Horizon. This AI Aloy could answer questions, but her responses sounded very awkward. The voice actor for Aloy, Ashly Burch, said she was worried about the future of voice acting.

Burch confirmed that this AI version of Aloy did not use her voice. She did not know about the video until it was shared online. Guerrilla Games, the company that makes Horizon, contacted her. They said the demo was not part of any real project and that her voice and performance were not used.

Many people laughed at the AI Aloy because it was unconvincing. Still, Burch is worried about what this means for voice actors. She mentioned that many actors are on strike right now. They are protesting against companies that want to use AI to take their performances without permission.

Burch hopes for better protections for actors. She wants studios to think carefully about using AI in games. As technology grows, this issue becomes more important.
