Sometimes, two isn’t necessarily better than one.
Recent reports indicate that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have not made a joint public appearance in over a month, leading to speculation about potential troubles in their marriage.
However, PR expert Ed Coram James argues that their separate engagements are not indicative of personal issues. Instead, he believes the couple is strategically navigating a rebranding process.
“Since their marriage, Harry and Meghan have cultivated a unique brand,” James remarked in an interview with GB News. “This brand, synonymous with the duo, has been recognized as ‘Harry and Meghan’ or ‘the Sussexes’ for years.”
James points out that their joint public image has started to feel “toxic,” prompting Harry and Meghan’s recent solo appearances to reestablish themselves as individual marketable entities.
He elaborated, “Following the infamous Oprah interview, in which they openly critiqued the Royal Family, their combined brand has become increasingly challenging for commercial partnerships. In isolation, however, they stand a better chance of cultivating separate identities and unique brands.”
Despite this strategic shift, rumors abound concerning the stability of their marriage. An insider reassured GB News that Harry and Meghan are stronger than ever, although Markle has felt the pressure of recent speculations.
Additionally, royal expert Jennie Bond mentioned that Markle has a personal memoir “in her back pocket,” which she may utilize strategically in the future regarding her experiences in the Royal Family.
