Grimes, the 36-year-old Canadian musician, experienced “major technical difficulties” during her performance at the Coachella festival which left her set playing at double speed. The technical glitch proved frustrating for the electronic artist, who explained on-stage that her songs were “borderline un-mixable.” Despite the issues, Grimes assured the audience that the rest of her set would be enjoyable.

In a later statement on Twitter, Grimes confessed that she usually handles all aspects of her performances, but chose to outsource some technical aspects for this set, which led to the issues. She admitted to having a bad feeling before going on stage and noted her lesson learnt was to continue engaging with the crowd rather than trying to fix the software during the show.

Grimes promised her fans that she would personally organize all the files for her next performance to prevent such an issue from reoccurring. Despite receiving some harsh criticism online, with some referring to her performance as the worst in Coachella history, Grimes assured her fans that her next performance would be flawless, and everything would be run through her hands.

Aside from her music career, Grimes recently made headlines due to her personal life. She recently went “Instagram official” with her new boyfriend, EDM artist Anyma. This follows her previous high-profile relationship with tech billionaire Elon Musk, with whom she has three children. The pair are currently involved in child custody lawsuits.
