Margot Robbie Reveals She Planned ‘Wolf of Wall Street’ Nudity

More than a decade after her astounding performance in The Wolf of Wall Street, Margot Robbie has taken the opportunity to claim her full-frontal debut as a bold creative decision.

Even though renowned director Martin Scorsese suggested she could wear a robe if it would ease her nerves, Robbie revealed in a recent podcast episode that it was entirely her idea to appear completely nude during a pivotal scene where her character, Naomi, seduces the affluent stockbroker Jordan Belfort, played by Leonardo DiCaprio.

“That’s not what she would do in that scene,” Robbie articulated on the Talking Pictures podcast. “The essence lies in her coming out completely naked—that’s the game she’s playing.”

Robbie displayed her fearlessness even among Hollywood giants like Scorsese and DiCaprio, recounting how she made an unconventional choice during her final audition: instead of a kiss, she slapped DiCaprio. “I thought, I could kiss Leonardo DiCaprio right now, which would be amazing. But then I thought… nah. And just walloped him in the face,” she recounted.

“It was dead silence for what felt like ages, but was likely only three seconds,” she added. “Then they erupted with laughter. Leo and Marty said, ‘That was great,’ while I nervously wondered if I was going to be arrested.”

Robbie’s creative contributions didn’t end there; she also suggested a pivotal moment of intimacy between Naomi and Jordan before she announces her desire for a divorce. She noted Scorsese was particularly open to collaborative discussions about script changes, creating a vibrant atmosphere on set.
