Porsche Taycan Sets New Nürburgring EV Record

Porsche has set a new record for the fastest electric vehicle (EV) at the Nürburgring racing track in Germany. The Taycan Turbo GT drove around the 20.832 km track in six minutes and 55.53 seconds.

In 2023, the Taycan Turbo GT was the fastest EV. But then, two other cars, the Rimac Nevera and Xiaomi SU7 Ultra, beat its time. The fastest car now is the Yangwang U9 Xtreme, with a time of six minutes and 59.16 seconds.

Porsche worked with Manthey Racing to improve the Taycan Turbo GT. This team makes fast racing cars. They made changes to the car’s software and added special parts. These changes helped the Taycan go faster and increase its downforce, which helps the car stay on the road better.

The brakes were also made bigger for better stopping power. With these upgrades, the Taycan Turbo GT is now faster than before, cutting around 12 seconds from its previous time. However, it is still slower than the Porsche 911 GT3, which is also very fast.
