Taylor Swift’s ‘Show Girl’ Launch Hits $33M Debut at No. 1

LOS ANGELES — Two big stars took the box office this weekend: Taylor Swift and Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

Taylor’s film, “The Official Release Party of a Show Girl,” made $33 million in North America. This film showed her new albums and videos. It only had a small promotion but was very popular. Dwayne Johnson’s movie, “The Smashing Machine,” earned only $6 million. It was in third place.

Other films did okay too. “Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie” made $5.2 million. “The Conjuring: Last Rites” made $4 million. “Demon Slayer” earned $3.5 million.

The weekend was full of fun movies. It shows that there are many types of films for everyone.
