Great Canadian Entertainment and the SE-MI-AH-MU Development Corporation have made an important deal in Surrey, British Columbia. SE-MI-AH-MU will buy Elements Casino Surrey from Great Canadian.
Great Canadian’s Board of Directors agreed to this deal. There are still some steps to finish before it is complete. They need to meet financial rules and get permission from local authorities and the City of Surrey.
Matt Anfinson, the CEO of Great Canadian, said this is their eighth deal with First Nations in British Columbia. He is excited about SE-MI-AH-MU entering the casino business. They will help SE-MI-AH-MU for a year after the sale.
Chief Harley Chappell of Semiahmoo First Nation said this purchase helps to create jobs and support their community. The deal will bring new opportunities for their people.
