American Music Awards Set for Star-Studded Performances Tonight

The American Music Awards (AMAs) take place tonight, marking the start of the summer music season in the USA. This event celebrates artists in the music industry and features performances from well-known artists like Billy Idol, Keith Urban, and Teyana Taylor.

The show will air on CBS at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT and will also be available for streaming on Paramount+. The AMAs are known as the largest fan-voted awards show worldwide. While most voting ended earlier this month, fans can still vote online for the social song of the year and the tour of the year during the first half hour of the show.

Queen Latifah hosts the event this year, returning to the AMAs stage after her previous involvement in 1995. Taylor Swift received the most nominations, with eight, thanks to her album “The Life of a Showgirl,” which is up for album of the year. Swift has already won 40 AMAs, more than any other artist.

Billy Idol will receive a lifetime achievement award and perform some of his greatest hits. Keith Urban will share a song from his upcoming album, and Teyana Taylor will showcase a medley from her latest work. K-pop group BTS will also make a special appearance after a long break, nominated for three awards.
