Capcom will release Onimusha: Way of the Sword for the Switch 2 in September. This game will come out on 25th September 2026.
The game will have two modes. In TV mode, the resolution will be 1920 x 1080p. In handheld mode, it will be 1600 x 900p. Both modes will use upscaling. The game will run at 30 frames per second (fps) in both modes. Capcom says players can change settings for a variable frame rate between 30 and 40 fps. Other versions of the game can run at 60 fps with a resolution of 3840 x 2160.
Pre-orders are open now on the Nintendo eShop. Players who pre-order will get a bonus Lion Dog charm. The game file size will be about 34.1GB.
The story takes place in Kyoto during the Edo period. Players will fight against evil creatures called Genma. The main character is a samurai with a special gauntlet that helps him defeat these enemies. He searches for his reason to fight.
