Singer and songwriter Cat Janice, also known as Catherine Ipsan, has passed away at her home in Virginia. She was 31 years old. Her brother, William Ipsan, said she died from a rare cancer called sarcoma.
Cat Janice was known for her lively pop music. Despite being very ill, she shared one of her songs from when she was in hospital care. The song, named “Dance You Outta My Head,” quickly became very popular. She sang about dancing in tough times. Many people, including famous star Jason Derulo, showed their support online.
She released this song a few days after she went into hospital care. She told her fans that they could support her young son, Loren, by listening to her song after she was gone. The song has been played in more than two million videos on TikTok, a popular social media app. It was her first song to be featured on the Billboard charts, a list of popular songs.
Cat Janice was born in 1993 and was part of a musical family. She played the violin and piano. She also loved science and worked as a geospatial analyst. She was diagnosed with cancer in 2022. Despite her illness, she continued to perform music and released an album named “Modern Medicine.” She was also able to marry her husband, Kyle Higginbotham, who’s also a musician.
Even during her last days, she spent her time creating music and enjoying time with her family. Her husband hopes that people will remember Cat Janice as a true artist, not just someone who made a song while she was sick.
