Orgasms are more than just the climax of your sexual exploits, they also have physical and mental benefits. The mystery of reaching the Big O has puzzled both men and women for many years. According to the National Library of Medicine, around half of women are not completely satisfied with the frequency of their orgasms, and about 10 to 15% have never experienced one.
In contrast, men seem to have less conflict, with about 5 to 10% having trouble climaxing, as mentioned in a study by Sexual Medicine. Even so, this leaves millions of people feeling insecure and stuck. But fret not, experts agree these three factors play vital roles in reaching the final destination of sexual pleasure.
Firstly, effective stimulation is your ticket to achieve orgasm. The right blend of tension and rhythm on your erogenous zones, such as the clitoris, penis, or ears, primes sexual arousal and eventually leads to the necessary muscle contractions.
Secondly, being mindful is essential. According to Dr. Mintz, a LELO ambassador, mindfulness means “putting your mind and body in the same place at the time.” Most of us struggle with overthinking during sex, wondering about our performance or appearance. To truly experience an orgasm, one must learn to be present in their body. Practices such as meditation or yoga can help train your mind to achieve this.
Finally, communication with your partner is pivotal. Directly expressing your needs and desires in bed increases the chances of climaxing. As Dr. Mintz advises, “Nobody reads minds. That’s where communication comes in.”
