A textile worker at a factory in Queens is suing a clothing brand for allowing a male co-worker to assault her. The worker, Jose Sabando, allegedly attacked her multiple times in a room at the factory. Other female co-workers were also victims. The factory supervisors reportedly knew about the assaults but did nothing. The victim, Aleksandra Pietras, was fired after she threatened to go to the police. Sabando’s girlfriend even harassed Pietras at work, calling her names. The assaults caused Pietras great distress, and she lost weight as a result. Despite the abuse, she tried to continue working because she enjoyed her job. Sabando’s actions were so horrific that Pietras is seeking justice through both civil and criminal complaints. She does not want any other women to go through what she experienced. The clothing brand and Sabando have not commented on the allegations. The case is ongoing as Pietras seeks justice for the harm caused to her.
