James Cameron’s movie, The Abyss, came out in 1989. It has a scene where a rat is put into a special liquid that helps it breathe. This scene was very controversial. It was banned in the UK at first.

Before making famous films like Titanic and Avatar, Cameron made The Abyss. It starred Ed Harris and had many underwater scenes. At first, people did not like the movie, but now many fans love it.

In the scene, the rat struggles at first but then learns to breathe the liquid. Five rats were used, and they all survived. Many people found the scene upsetting, so it was removed from the film in the UK.

Recently, Disney+ showed the full version again. But after complaints, they removed the movie once more.

The RSPCA, a group that protects animals, wants Disney+ to bring back the movie, but without that scene.
