Jeff Shell has left his job as president of Paramount Skydance. This happened after a legal problem with a gambler from Las Vegas named Robert James “R.J.” Cipriani. Paramount said Shell’s departure was agreed upon after talks. Their review found no breaking of laws by Shell.
Shell also quit his role on the Paramount board to focus on the legal case. He worked for Paramount for only eight months. The company thanked him for his help during that time.
Shell joined Paramount last August during a takeover led by David Ellison. Ellison’s company bought Paramount and planned to buy Warner Bros. for $111 billion in February.
Cipriani filed a lawsuit against Shell in March. He accused Shell of not keeping promises and sharing secrets about Paramount. Shell denied these claims and said Cipriani made up stories to get money.
Paramount hired a law firm to investigate. The firm said Cipriani’s claims were not true. Shell decided to leave to help Paramount focus on its goals.
