Tracker Season 3, Episode 18 Prepares for Jensen Ackles’ Return

Sunday’s episode of “Tracker” failed to provide definitive answers regarding Colter Shaw’s father but did introduce several intriguing new leads. Colter sought information from Buck Avery, played by Michael O’Neill, about Ashton Shaw’s behaviour in the Alaskan wilderness leading up to his death. Initially hesitant, Buck eventually acknowledged his acquaintance with Ashton.

The discussion shifted as Colter shared findings from his father’s journals. He revealed Ashton’s sudden departure from academia, relocation to a remote compound, and involvement with the Chronostasis Institute, an entity that sparked Buck’s recollections. Buck disclosed that his family had previously rented land to government contractors, which housed a now-defunct research facility.

Buck asserted that the operation received funding from the Defence Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and engaged in a variety of experiments, from weather manipulation to more obscure projects. However, an unforeseen incident led to a hurried closure, causing all trace of the facility to vanish.

The narrative deepened when Buck directed Colter’s attention to Dr. Serena Jukic, a researcher significantly connected to the project, who might possess crucial insights. Buck reported that she had briefly mentioned the accident but had not provided further details before mysteriously disappearing after the facility’s shutdown.

It was confirmed that Ashton was present in the vicinity during the incident, but the specifics of his activities remain unclear.

The episode concluded with a hint towards the season finale, scheduled for May 24, which promises to further explore these developments. Colter left a voicemail for his brother Russell, indicating the family’s involvement in a significant government cover-up and suggesting a partnership to locate Dr. Jukic. The finale will focus on Colter and Russell’s quest to find a victim of a questionable research project.
