Shift Up has revealed a new game called Stellar Blade: Blood Rain. The head of Shift Up, Hyung-Tae Kim, spoke to Korean media about the game. He shared ideas about a new character named Evie. She is a younger and shorter hero, replacing another character named Eve.
Evie has a strong fighting style. Kim wants her to look cool and stylish. Some people in the West say Evie looks too young. This is important because the first game had characters designed to be more sexualised, or overly attractive.
Shift Up thinks Evie’s small size makes her fighting style even more interesting. The game is still being developed. Changes may happen to Evie’s design, as the original character also changed before the first game’s release.
Shift Up plans to publish the game by itself. They want it on many gaming systems. Kim thanked Sony for their support, but said self-publishing is faster. The game has been in development for one year, and it may take longer before it is ready to play.
