Title: Toddler Picked Up by Giraffe at Texas Safari
A Texas family faced a shocking event when their toddler was picked up by a giraffe at a safari park. The parents, Sierra Robert and Jason Toten, were visiting Fossil Rim Wildlife Center with their two-year-old daughter, Paisley.
In the park, visitors drive through and feed the animals. Paisley was feeding a giraffe when it lifted her up by grabbing her shirt. The scary moment was filmed by her mother and others visiting the park.
Sierra said, “I looked back over, she was gone. It was really shocking.” Jason added, “My heart just stopped.”
Thankfully, Paisley was okay. The giraffe soon let her go and Sierra caught her. Sierra shared, “Her falling, me catching her, it happened so slow.”
A wildlife expert, Corbin Maxey, thinks the giraffe is used to people. Maxey said, “The giraffe is used to eating from visitors. But it accidentally grabbed the toddler’s shirt.”
The park now said no one can ride through in trucks anymore. But it will have more activities guided by staff. The family said they will visit the park again, and Paisley is still a fan of giraffes.
