Destiny 2 Sees Highest Player Count in Two Years After Update

Destiny 2 has seen many players return after its last update. The game’s fans are excited to say goodbye to the famous sci-fi game. Destiny 2 will still be online for now, but it will not get new content. The final update was released today. In the first 24 hours, 167,000 players were online at the same time on Steam. This is the highest number of players since the last paid update in 2024, which had 314,000 players.

Some players have trouble logging in due to many people trying at the same time. Before the update, fans wanted to have more players than another game called Marathon. They wanted to show that Destiny should continue. They did have more players than Marathon’s peak of 77,000. This has caused problems with Destiny 2’s servers.

Last month, Bungie announced there would be no more support for Destiny 2 after June. Many fans were surprised as they expected new updates. Bungie will focus on a new game, Marathon, which has not done well. Destiny fans are very upset and want a third game. However, there is no active development for Destiny 3.
