Dolly Parton spoke at a shop Walmart in Newport, Tennessee. She grew up there. She sang a special song there for the people affected by the storm. The song was based on her famous song “Jolene.” Many people appreciated her effort.

She gave $1 million of her own money to the ones in need. With the help from other groups, she helped gather another $1 million to be given to a foundation called The Mountain Ways Foundation.

Dolly thinks everyone should step in to get the area back on its feet. The storm resuled in lots of rain being poured in the area, with damages that need to be fixed. Many people still do not have food or clean water. The rain also caused damage to the electricity lines and mobile phone service.
