Salinas has its first ‘Salinas Day’ with tours and fun activities.
Salinas hosted its first ‘Salinas Day’ event on Saturday at Station Place. This event helped people learn about the city’s history and culture. Monterey County Supervisor Luis Alejo said, “Salinas is important for our history and culture. We should celebrate it!”
City leaders and many people joined the celebration. They enjoyed free tours of the first mayor’s house, the railroad museum, and the Welcome Center. There was also food and music.
Mayor Dennis Donohue called it a great celebration of history and culture. He said, “This helps people connect with their community.” The city wants to have this event again next year and make it even better.
