**EXCLUSIVE**: Greenwich Entertainment has bought the North American rights to Fantasy Life. This is the first film by Matthew Shear, who used to be an actor. The film won many awards, including the Audience Award at SXSW 2025.
There is no release date yet. Visit Films is taking care of international sales at Cannes.
In the movie, Shear stars with Amanda Peet. She plays Dianne, a mother and actress whose career is not going well. After losing his job, Sam (played by Shear) starts babysitting Dianne’s three daughters. They both have experiences with mental health issues. During a summer in Martha’s Vineyard, Sam gets to know Dianne and her family.
The film received great reviews at SXSW. Critics say Peet’s acting is amazing. Other cast members include Bob Balaban, Andrea Martin, and Zosia Mamet.
Matthew Shear expressed excitement about his film and working with talented actors. Greenwich Entertainment recently acquired other films like Love, Brooklyn and Omaha. The deal was made by Andy Bohn from Greenwich.
