“Saturday Night Live”, a popular TV program, recently made fun of one of the week’s big news stories. In the newest episode, actors played worried parents of students in New York City.

The actor Michael Longfellow played a talk show host in the episode. He chatted with parents played by actors Heidi Gardner, Mikey Day and Kenan Thompson. They talked about the worries parents have when their children are involved in protests.

Gardner and Day’s characters were worried about their children protesting. Thompson’s character was happy that young people were speaking up for what they believe in. But when he found out his own child might be protesting, he was surprised.

Thompson joked that he does many jobs, like driving for Uber and selling wallets, to pay for his daughter’s expensive school. He does not want her to spend her time protesting.

Many people were arrested for protesting at universities in New York City this week. Some of those arrested were not students at the universities.

People like to watch “Saturday Night Live” because it makes jokes about serious topics.
