NVIDIA and AMD’s chief executive officers have arrived in Taiwan to prepare for Computex 2026, one of the largest technology exhibitions, set to commence on 2 June. This event is particularly significant as it will highlight advancements in consumer products and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.
Both NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang and AMD CEO Dr. Lisa Su landed in Taipei, the heart of the event. Computex will feature numerous events and conferences across the city, primarily centred in the Nangang District, where extensive exhibition halls will host hundreds of booths from various companies showcasing their latest innovations.
Upon arrival, Jensen Huang expressed eagerness to meet Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) Chairman C.C. Wei. Huang also participated in the Meet-a-Claw event, engaging with developers focusing on autonomous agents. In the forthcoming days, he plans to visit partners in Taiwan and host his annual “Trillion Dollar” dinner with key supply chain members, alongside experiencing the local cuisine at renowned night markets.
NVIDIA’s GTC event is scheduled for 1 June at 11 AM Taiwan Standard Time, where significant updates in AI and key consumer announcements are expected.
Simultaneously, AMD’s CEO Dr. Lisa Su has also reached Taiwan. In a recent post, Su mentioned her anticipation of engaging with customers and industry leaders while enjoying local delicacies. During an interview, she highlighted a desire for deeper collaborations with TSMC.
AMD has achieved a notable milestone by entering mass production of its first 2nm high-performance computing product, known as EPYC Venice. With rising demand for CPUs, AMD aims to strengthen its position against Intel and NVIDIA in this sector, especially as interest in AI continues to grow. The company’s announcements at Computex are expected to focus heavily on AI developments while still catering to consumer interests.
