Recently, Microsoft unveiled the optional KB5046714 Preview cumulative update for Windows 10 22H2, which encompasses six bug fixes, notably addressing an issue that hindered users from uninstalling or updating packaged applications.
This preview update is part of Microsoft’s schedule for “optional non-security preview updates,” typically rolled out at the end of each month. It provides Windows administrators an opportunity to test forthcoming fixes and features anticipated in the subsequent December Patch Tuesday.
In contrast to the regular Patch Tuesday updates, this preview does not include any security enhancements.
To install this update, Windows users should navigate to Settings, select Windows Update, and then manually click on ‘Check for Updates.’

- [Country and Operator Settings Asset (COSA)] Fixed: The update refreshes profiles for various mobile operators.
- [IPP printer] Fixed: Windows may stop responding when using an IPP USB printer.
Additionally, this update resolves an issue preventing users from uninstalling or updating packaged applications, such as Microsoft Teams, following the installation of the WinAppSDK 1.6.2 package.
