Elon Musk, the billionaire behind Tesla and SpaceX, is not happy with Apple’s plans to integrate OpenAI’s ChatGPT into their devices. Musk has threatened to ban Apple products at his companies if this integration goes ahead, calling it a “security violation.” He even suggested that visitors to his companies would have to store their Apple devices in a Faraday cage.
Apple recently announced “Apple Intelligence,” a new generative AI feature that will be included in their upcoming operating systems. This feature will allow Siri to interact with ChatGPT to provide answers to user questions. However, Musk believes that Apple should be developing their own AI instead of outsourcing to third parties like OpenAI.
Despite Musk’s concerns, Apple has stated that user privacy will be protected with this integration. The news of Apple Intelligence did not cause a price rally for AI-linked cryptocurrencies, with some like Render and Fetch.ai experiencing a slight dip in value.
