Electrolux Group has announced a recall of over 174,000 Frigidaire gas ranges due to a potentially hazardous oven issue. This recall affects approximately 169,500 units in the United States and 5,300 in Canada, as reported by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC). The recall is significant as it addresses risks associated with delayed ignition of the bake burner, which can lead to serious burns.
The specific models involved in the recall include various Frigidaire, Frigidaire Gallery, and Frigidaire Professional ranges, identified by their model numbers such as FCFG3083AS and GCFG3060BF. Each model falls within a serial number range from VF52200000 to VF54399999, found on a nameplate in the drawer beneath the oven.
Consumers are advised to cease usage of the affected ranges immediately. Electrolux will provide free in-home installation of a new bake burner to address the ignition issue. However, users may continue to use the cooktop burners safely while awaiting the installation.
The CPSC has reported 62 instances of delayed ignition, including 30 cases of burn injuries. The affected ranges were sold at major retailers, including Lowe’s and Home Depot, between June 2025 and January 2026, with prices ranging from £630 to £2,700.
Moving forward, Electrolux and the CPSC will continue to monitor consumer reports and encourage individuals with these ranges to contact the company for assistance.
